What a Good Box Actually Does

Think about how people buy melts. Most are picking up a gift, or they saw something pretty and grabbed it. They don’t compare ingredients. They look at the design, glance at the scent name, and decide.

That’s a few seconds, and it’s why wax melt packaging is worth some thought. A flimsy bag says cheap. Put the same wax in a solid box and it says gift, which means you can charge more for it.

Then there’s breakage. Wax is brittle. Parcels get dropped, stacked and sat on. A box that fits properly keeps the melts in one piece.

Getting the Size Right

We don’t give you a standard box and hope for the best. Melts come in all sorts of shapes, and the fit matters more than most people expect.

Clamshells, snap bars, tarts and small sample cubes all need different dimensions. Make the box too loose and the wax rattles around and cracks. Make it too tight and packing an order turns into a chore. We measure your actual melt and build around it.

For the style, people usually go for a tuck-end box, a sleeve, or a window box. Inserts are there if you want every melt sitting in its own slot. Got colorful wax? Get the window. Customers like seeing what they’re buying.

Artwork comes last. Send us your logo and scent names, or just describe the mood. Cozy, clean, dark and moody, anything. You get a proof, and we print nothing until you approve it.

Picking a Printing Method

Quantity usually decides this one.

Digital printing is the go-to for small runs. It’s also handy if every scent in your range has its own artwork, because switching designs doesn’t add setup cost.

Offset printing gives sharper detail and truer brand colors. If you’re ordering in larger numbers and your color needs to be exact, this is the one.

Flexographic printing suits big volumes of simple designs, and it looks good on kraft.

Finishes

A printed box is fine. A finished box is the one people pick up and turn over in their hands.

Matte lamination feels soft and smooth. Gloss makes colors look richer. Spot UV puts a shiny raised layer on one part of the design, usually the logo. Foil in gold or silver gives it a gift-shop feel. Embossing and debossing press your design into the paper so people can feel it with a fingertip.

You can mix them. Matte with spot UV on the logo is a favorite for luxury wax melt boxes, and it looks a lot pricier than it is.
